Small change: be who you are

At times of change, it can be tempting to believe that good leadership relies on aping the characteristics of another. This perspective is not helped by a great deal of business writing, which puts high achievers on pedestals. To succeed, the underlying value system implies, we need to be like them.
But all any of us can ever do is be who we are, in the knowledge and understanding that who we are is enough.
Whatever personality traits, perspectives or life experiences you have at your disposal are a unique toolkit. The key is to work out how to use those tools, rather than try and work with someone else’s.
