Small change: check your time zone

So here we are: it’s almost the end of 2025, and it’s our last Small Change of the year to boot. We can say this for certain: what a long, strange trip it’s been.

At this time of year, attention tends to turn to the next one: targets, objectives, strategies, tactics and budgets all pile up like… let’s say ‘gifts around the Christmas tree’. This can bring with it a sense of both urgency and pressure. Phrases like “hit the ground running in January” don’t help.

If that’s your business, it can be helpful to examine your relationship with time. Every business overestimates what it can do in a month and underestimates what it can do in a year. Don’t believe us? Think back to December 2024, and see just how far you’ve come.

Something to consider: What might really be possible, 12 months from now?
