Take a look at the chaotic, crazy, inexplicable world around you. Is it any wonder that we all want to feel a sense of control in our lives?

The desire for control can be even more pronounced in leaders. After all, chaos feels like a great way to lose customers, cash and, in the end, your career.

But where something is gained, something is lost: and a controlling leadership style can often trample down or squeeze out the willingness and ability of others to contribute. So here’s a question: what would it mean if you created a little bit more space for those around you to bring their genius to the table?

Something to consider: where might exerting a bit less control better serve those I lead — and my business?
