Small change: find the joy

Cor, that Keir Starmer is a right laugh, isn’t he? It’s a question to which most observers would offer an identical answer, regardless of their political leanings.
Of course, leading a country — like any form of leadership — is a serious business. Decisions carry consequences, and those consequences can be profound.
But transformation of any kind requires a baseline level of hope that a better future is possible. It requires optimism; an ability to embrace the task of building (or rebuilding) in a spirit of joy.
In the same way that you cannot bore people into loving you, you cannot lead people into a future that they don’t feel in the slightest bit good about.
