Small change: keep climbing

“Behind the mountains, more mountains” is a Haitian proverb which points to an uncomfortable but irrefutable truth about work (and indeed life). Whenever we think we’re done — that we’ve arrived at some triumphal peak — another challenge always lies in wait.
One clear implication of this is that we need to celebrate those peaks when we achieve them.
But it also means that we need to get good at mountaineering — and to find things to enjoy about the climb.
After all, you spend far more time on the side of the mountain than the top. The smart leader acknowledges this, and arms themselves and their team with both the resources and the mindset to keep climbing.
