“Behind the mountains, more mountains” is a Haitian proverb which points to an uncomfortable but irrefutable truth about work (and indeed life). Whenever we think we’re done — that we’ve arrived at some triumphal peak — another challenge always lies in wait.

After all, you spend far more time on the side of the mountain than the top. The smart leader acknowledges this, and arms themselves and their team with both the resources and the mindset to keep climbing.

Something to consider: what’s our relationship with the mountains we have to climb?
