Small change: reveal what’s already there

Michelangelo said something interesting about creating his masterpiece, David: that David was always alive, under the marble. It was simply his (that is, Michelangelo’s) job to reveal him.

A great deal of change work comes from a perspective which is, in essence, ‘this organisation is broken, we need to get it fixed’.

But what if that’s not the case? What if, instead, the brilliance of your organisation — your people’s innate willingness and ability to support and uplift one another through change — is already alive, waiting to be revealed? How might that influence your approach?
